Compaq unveils new AlphaSaver models: Compaq Computer Corporation has introduced two AlphaSaver models based on Compaq`s new generation 64 -bit Alpha 21264 (EV6) chip -the world`s fastest processor. The new range gives customers up to 2.5 times the application performance of the previous generation of AlphaServer, cutting hours of processing tasks and providing faster access to detailed information. In addition, the new series are universal platform systems that support Digital Unix. The company`s goal is to enhance the capabilities of the Alpha and incorporate them in its high-performance servers. As members of the new series, AlphaServer GS 60 and GS 140 replace the AlphaServer 8200/8400 system with up to twice the power and application performance.

Blues Bizaar opens third store in Mumbai: After Bandra and Thane, Blues Bizaar has opened its third outlet at Dadar in Mumbai. The Bizaar customer is trendy, fashion conscious and fun-loving and primarily targets the age group of 16-25. Spreadacross 1,200 square feet, the Dadar outlet will stock cottons, lycra, gabardines and a whole assortment of other fashion wear besides the denim collection.

Annual seminar on integrated communications: Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies will hold a seminar on integrated communication "Communicationext" on November 3 at the World Trade centre, Mumbai. Distinguished speakers at the seminar include, Ranjan Kapur( O&M chief executive officer Ranjan Kapur and Lintas media head Andre Purshottam.

Mumbai Iron & Steel Trade Directory 1999: The CB group of companies plans to release the Iron and Steel Directory '99 (Mumbai) in January 1999. The edition will update the list of iron merchants and provide addresses of brokers, sub-brokers, and re-rollers. Priced at Rs 150, the directory will have over 600 pages. It was in 1985 that the group had introduced the directory's first edition in Mumbai.

Cartoon Network introduces interactive programming: Cartoon Network has launched aninteractive programming initiative to kids in India, New Zealand and Australia. Toonsagogo, a two-hour morning Sunday show from 11 am to 1 pm, replays on Monday from 3 pm-5 pm. This is Cartoon Network's first in-house production tailored specifically towards viewers. Toonsagogo is hosted by two animated characters, the Flotsam T-2000 and his side-kick, Bird. The pair will appeal to kids to write in to the Network and request their favourite cartoons.
