Coimbatore: The cotton lint prices remained steady without much fluctuation in the first fortnight of October, the beginning of the cotton year.
With the continuing demand recession for the lint, mills had been unable to sustain the poor liquidity situation and were pinning their hopes on the festive demand for finished goods and the inflow of additional funds from financial institutions, the cotton market report for the period from the South India Cotton Association (Sica) said.
