Gandhinagar, Oct 27: The Gujarat Infrastructure Development Board (GIDB), having powers of the State Cabinet, has sanctioned in-principle the right of way to Reliance Telecom's information corridor project for laying optical fibre cable network through the state.GIDB at its meeting with Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel in chair decided to create a gas grid, linking liquified natural gas (LNG) terminals and distribution centres in cities, through Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation as the nodal agency.
Patel told newspersons later that the Petronet's application for equity participation in statutory undertakings was under consideration of the state government.
He said that Gujarat's Agenda for Integrated Infrastructure Development by 2010 is likely to be given final form by December.
GIDB approved Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) holding 26 per cent equity in the Rs 146 crores township project at Atali near Dahej, besides developing similar townships near Ankleshwar and in Saurashtra &Kutch region.
It also decided to invite bids for carrying out feasibility report for a mass rapid transport system (MRTS), including a circular rail project for the state's premier city of Ahmedabad.
