There are problems with centre on creating policy climate, says Naidu
Chandrababu Naidu, the self-styled CEO of Hyderabad Inc, says that the Centre can, and should, ensure a good policy environment to attract foreign investments. Naidu--who has just returned to his state after a whirlwind business tour abroad--told our correspondent Chitti Pantulu that the centre has to take tough decisions on several sensitive issues based on the premiss that there is no other way out but to let foreign investments flow in.
Buyback requires stringent norms, says HSBC chief
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) should not allow companies to buy-back their shares from the open market as it could lead to price manipulation, HSBC Capital Markets chief executive Shaun Browne said on Friday. The HSBC chief executive also said there should be transparency in the buy-back guidelines so that all the shareholders (specially small) get equal opportunity.
Turn to mutual funds for appropriate asset allocation
Many individuals come to the investment scene gradually, beginning with one instrument and slowly adding others. Eventually they realise they are holding a hodgepodge of investments, and are in need of some kind of investment plan tailored to suit their personal circumstances. That means developing an asset allocation strategy.
