UK firm joins hands with Indigo Technologies

Our Bureau
Chennai, Nov 7: Indigo Technologies and Datawise Services Ltd of the UK have joined together in a business partnership, the first of a series of channel partners programme the former is planning.

Under this programme, Indigo plans to tie up with various small and medium companies in the US and Europe where the partnership will be of mutual advantage to both.

Addressing media persons here on Saturday, Indigo president and CEO Sashi Chimala said that this kind of a tieup is expected to benefit both parties in terms of increasing product portfolios and wider marketing reach.

Each partner would sell the other's products in areas where they don't have an existing presence and the two companies could also come together to jointly develop some packages with combined expertise.

Indigo is planning to have 15 such partners in 12 months. The MoUs will be specific on licensing methods, targets to be achieved, and the industries to focus upon.

Indigo recently participated in the Sibos (a forum for the financialindustry) with 5,500 delegates. Dealing primarily with banking and securities, Indigo could interact with leading financial organisations, understand their need for automation of their risk management, reconcilation solutions and Swift (Society for Worldwide Inter-bank Financial Telecommunication) - related solutions.

In India, Indigo is the agency selling Swift-related products. Though there is no exclusivity cause, Swift is not known to have more than one partner in one country. This has given Indigo an opportunity to interact with all the banks who deal with overseas transactions, where Swift products are always used.Indigo will start of selling Datawise's SWIFT related applications in the country and move on to other applications of the latter which are used in interfacing various transactions that do not `speak' to each other.
