Mumbai, Nov 11: Surjit Singh Barnala, union minister of chemicals and fertilisers will inaugurate the `Chemtech Worldexpo '98' beginning from November 18 in Mumbai. K Ramamurthy, union minister of petroleum and natural gas will be the chief guest.Chemtech worldexpo 98, claimed to be India's largest international trade fair on process engineering industry, has been sponsered by Chemtech Foundation and co sponsored by the Union ministry of chemicals and fertilisers. Two international and 10 local industry associations are said to have supported the event.
The exposition is aimed at providing greater thrust to the state-of-the-art technology and offer a wide range of latest equipment and instruments for whole range of related industry in chemicals and petrochemicals, drugs and pharmaceuticals, fertilisers, oil and gas power, energy sector and environment management sector.
The events will offer multifaceted platform to business visitors looking forward to partnerships, technology upgradation, financialtie ups and joint ventures, said DK Varma, chairman of the National Executive Council for the exhibition.
According to Varma, a total of 40 papers will be presented by experts from Indian and overseas companies at a two-day conference with theme 'Strategy for Y2K and beyond especially for the hydrocarbos, power, oil and gas, chemicals and petrochemicals and other process industry sectors.
Further, Chemtech Foundation, jointly with European Commission has also sponsored a two-day EU India business forum on November 21 and 22 wherein some 18 companies of the European Association of pump manufactures will display their technologies and seek partnership and joint ventures.
