Bangalore, Nov 14: Hewlett Packard (HP) India Ltd has introduced two rackable, performance-dense enterprise servers for Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in Bangalore on Friday.
The two new products HP 9000 A-Class and R-Class servers offer higher Unix(R) system performance density per rack, says Stacy Plemmons, vice president (enterprise accounts organisation), Hewlett-Packard India.HP has also introduced a secure Web console which allows secure remote server management from anywhere in the world. Plemmons added that this along with the recently launched Intel-based NetServer systems and HP TopTools remote management card offer a complete range of Unix and NT-based products for ISPs.``Businesses increasingly rely on service providers to manage their mission-critical applications with strong guarantees of performance and reliability. The new HP range addresses the need of ISPs in managing explosive market demands without expanding data centres,'' opined Ross Templeton, technical marketing manager (datawarehousing & high availability systems), Asia/Australasia, HP.
The A-class series of Unix systems provide up to 360GB of disk capacity per rack and 40GB of memory per rack with a 20MB cache per rack. Twenty A-Class servers can be fit into one two-metre rack, says Plemmons.
