Hyderabad, Dec 3: Bajaj Auto's new 60cc gearless and two-speed auto-transmission scooterette Spirit is all set to hit the roads early next month. Apart from this a new look Chetak '99 will also hit the roads.The new launches are part of the company's aggressive drive for the Indian two-wheeler market where it has launched two new models Kawasaki Caliber and Legend recently, while two more are slated for later. One of the participants in the auto show has displayed its new vehicles--Kawasaki Caliber, Saffire, Legend and Spirit.
The Kawasaki Caliber, with an ex-showroom price of Rs 41,000, has already been introduced in three states and will be launched in Hyderabad soon, company officials who were participating in a four-day Auto Fest in the city said.
The 100 per cent indigenous Legend on the other hand has been priced at Rs 32,000 and has been already launched in Delhi and Pune. The company has applied for nine patents on the vehicle which is a four-stroke scooter keeping in line with the latest normson pollution free two-wheelers.
Bajaj's new look Chetak'99 is ready to hit the roads later this month, the officials said. Nearly 40 units from the auto sector comprising vehicle manufacturers and component manufacturers are participating in the four-day exhibition which is being held in Hyderabad for the first time.
Some of the big names include Hindustan Motors, Daewoo India, Hyundai, Ford, TVS-Suzuki and the tyre major Ceat Tyres apart from Kirloskar Batteries, Fenner (India), Exide Batteries, Roots Industries, IBP Red, Samkrg Pistons and Tudor India.
