Bangalore, Dec 19: Godrej Agrovet Ltd plans to set up a chicken processing plant near Mumbai with an outlay of Rs 10 crore to Rs 15 crore. The Rs 300-crore company has also decided to unveil ready-to-eat chicken shortly.Godrej Agrovet Ltd managing director SL Anaokar said the response for the company's chicken has been encouraging from western parts of the country. After establishing the Real Good brand chicken in Bangalore and some areas of Chennai, we aim other major markets of the country. Major diversified areas for the company are the launch of vegetables in package form, he said. "Godrej Agrovet is exploring a new brand name for our vegetable launch which is expected shortly," he added.
It sees huge potential in exports to countries like the Middle East where it can set up a processing plant without huge investments. Godrej Agrovet on Friday introduced Real Good 6 week young chicken in Bangalore.
