Billiton buys BHP's manganese assets
REUTERS
Johannesburg: UK-LISTED mining group Billiton said on Friday it had acquired the manganese assets of Australia's Broken Hill Proprietary (BHP) for $375 million. Anglo American Corp will hold a 40 per cent stake in the assets through Samancor, its joint-venture manganese operation with Billition, which will also manage the assets.Copyright © 1998 Indian Express Newspapers (Bombay) Ltd.
