Reserve Bank to float payment-system subsidiary
The Reserve Bank of India plans to set up a wholly-owned subsidiary which will be an independent service provider (ISP) in the real time gross settlement (RTGS) system. The RTGS system is being set up by the RBI for banks and financial institutions.
New telecom plan by March-end
The Centre will implement the new telecom policy by March 31 this year, external affairs minister and head of the group on telecom Jaswant Singh said in his inaugural address at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) partnership summit in Jaipur yesterday.
Ordinance to amend Cable Networks Act on the cards
The Centre may issue an ordinance to amend the Cable Networks Act as a prelude to lifting the ban on direct-to-home (DTH) television service.
