Centre slashes diesel rates by 10 per cent
The government on Friday announced a 10 per cent reduction in diesel prices throughout the country. Diesel will now cost Rs 8.89 in Delhi, Rs 9.11 in Calcutta, Rs 10.04 in Mumbai and Rs 9.79 in Chennai.
RBI allows banks to mobilise gold from market
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has allowed banks to mobilise gold from the domestic market by floating a gold deposit scheme and buying gold from jewellers and the metal holders.
Ind Auto powers into Telco, Maruti turf; cuts Uno diesel price by a lakh
Ind Auto, the manufacturer of the Uno, on Friday joined the price-war in the small-car segment. The company has slashed the prices of its diesel versions by over Rs 1 lakh while the cut in the petrol version has been in the range of Rs 30,000-50,000.
