BSE holds special auction to settle demat mismatch
The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Wednesday conducted a special auction to enable the brokers meet their pay-in obligations of delivering demat shares for settlement ended on January 15. The auction was conducted for about 10 stocks with the volumes ranging in the band of 100-1600 shares.
Canbank Mutual Fund to float two debt schemes in March
Canbank Mutual Fund is likely to float two new debt related schemes -- Canbank income scheme and a money market related scheme -- by early March 1999, subject to Sebi approval.
Profit-booking limits Sensex surge
Profit booking by domestic institutions saw the 30-share Sensex close below the crucial barrier of 3,400 points at 3,353.98, recording a net gain of 44.83 points over Monday's close. However, FIIs continued to be net buyers on the local bourses with their net purchases pegged at Rs 20 crore on the BSE.
