Centre hikes cooking-gas prices by 15%
The Union Government on Sunday increased the price of cooking gas (LPG) steeply between Rs 16 and Rs 18.40 per cylinder. While the hike will vary from city to city and market to market depending on sales tax and other local levies, the increase in the retail selling prices will be Rs 16 per cylinder in Delhi, Rs 16.05 in Mumbai, Rs 16.65 in Chennai and Rs 18.40 in Calcutta.

Parekh panel may ask UTI to snip US-64 equity exposure to 20%
The Deepak Parekh committee on US-64 restructuring is believed to be in favour of a drastic reduction in the equity portfolio of the fund to 20% over the medium term from the present level of about 66%.

MTNL web page costs 53% lower than VSNL's
An individual web page will now cost a mere Rs 5,667, courtesy Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd. MTNL's charge for a page on the world wide web is around 53% lower than VSNL's tariff of Rs 12,000 for a similar page.
