New Delhi, Feb 23: TVS-Suzuki, the country's second largest two-wheeler manufacturer, will produce its new four-stroke motorcycle at its Mysore plant.The decision to manufacture the motorcycle at its Mysore plant will save TVS-Suzuki an investment to the tune of Rs 50 crore. The plant will continue to manufacture the new generation four-stroke scooter `TVS Spectra' and its other variants to be launched soon.
The president of the company, C P Raman, said, "the newly commissioned Mysore plant has been built with flexible machines so that it can produce both scooters and motorcycles. This also gives us the ability to strike an adequate ratio between scooters and motorcycles. The plant can produce 5,000 four-stroke motorcycles and 6,000 four-stroke scooters every month", he added.
TVS-Suzuki has the largest market share of 51 per cent in the mopeds category and has captured 45 per cent of the sub 100 cc scooterette category and about 26 per cent of the motor cycle segment respectively.
