Singapore, Mar 3: A top-level advisory panel has endorsed the management of technical aspects of Internet by the private sector in a fresh bid to streamline usage of the booming world-wide web, officials said on Wednesday. The endorsement was made by the governmental advisory committee of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) which held its inaugural meeting in Singapore on Tuesday.
"We saw a broad cross-section of the community of nations express support for the idea that the Internet is best managed by the Internet community itself," said an expert.
