TBWA Anthem wins at Asia Pacific Ad FestIn its first foray at an international awards festival -- the Asia pacific Advertising Festival held recently at Pattaya, Thailand -- TBWA Anthem bagged one silver and two bronzes for its press campaign for Birla Yamaha gensets and invertors. The awards were bagged in the highly competitive category of Home Appliances and Furnishings. No Gold was awarded in the category.
The campaign was created by TBWA Anthem, New Delhi, and shot by Gaurav Bhardwaj. Stark black and white photographs were used portraying people in a state of extreme helplessness and resorting to divine intervention to rid them of their deprivation (and suggests that Birla Yamaha could make life easier). The underlying humour effectively counter balances the rather serious dig the campaign makes at the fence-sitting consumer.
Trikaya Grey honoured
Trikaya Grey, Bangalore, bagged eight awards at the annual Madras Advertising Club Awards recently. The break-up: three gold, foursilver and one bronze. Niranjan Natarajan, creative director, was adjudged Copywriter of the Year. The award-winning campaigns were: Lee jeans, MTR foods, Volvo, Timex watches and The Asian Age.
