Arunachal outlay up 6 per cent

Our Economic Bureau
New Delhi, Mar 17: The Arunachal Pradesh Annual Plan (1999-2000) outlay has been increased by six per cent to Rs 665 crore. The outlay was finalised at a meeting here on Wednesday between Planning Commission deputy chairman KC Pant and state Chief Minister Mukut Mithi.

Pant stressed upon the desirability of a Vision 2020 document and the need to accelerate the implementation of micro-hydel schemes. An amount of Rs 15 crore has been earmarked for the state from the non-lapsable centre pool of resources during the current financial year.

It was recognised during the discussions that progressive reduction in administrative costs is needed. Mobilisation of additional resources and improved functional efficiency in key sectors like power and road transport is required.
