Calcutta, Mar 17: The Lagan Jute Machinery Company Ltd, a subsidiary unit of Bharat Bhari Udyog Nigam Ltd, has now now successfully developed and commissioned the first-cum-second open screw gill jute drawing frame here.According to a company release, this composite jute drawing frame was primarily developed for the decentralised sector to take advantage of the reduction in overall capital cost and production cost considerably.By developing this fully indigenous new machine, Lagan, in association with IJIRA, had helped the decentralised jute sector grow within their limited financial strength.The new combination machine would produce better quality silvers in terms of irregularities, as 4.1 doubling had been provided, resulting in higher spinning efficiency and lower spinning breaks. This machine was ideal for low cost and low capacity jute mill projects.
(UNI)Lagan Jute Machinery was the leading jute machinery manufacturer in South East Asia, catering to the markets of Bangladesh, Indonesia, Vietnamin addition to its domestic markets.The company had just finalised a deal with a leading jute mill in ivory coast for continued supply of spares to meet the mills annual requirement.Lagan received potential orders for spares from various jute mills of Bangladesh during 1998-99 and most of the supplies against these orders were completed, it said adding Lagan expects further orders from Bangladesh during the next financial year.
