VSNL gets nod to invest Rs 100 cr in New Skies
The Union Cabinet has given its approval to Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd (VSNL) for investing Rs 100 crore in picking up 3.02% stake in New Skies Satellites, NV, an IntelSat subsidiary, which is launching the K-TV satellite over the Indian ocean on April 28.
British-Gas India to float tenders to source LNG
British Gas India Pvt Ltd, the wholly-owned subsidiary of $17 billion global gas-chain major British Gas, will shortly float global tenders for sourcing liquified natural gas (LNG) for the 5.3 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) LNG import terminal project at Pipavav on the Saurashtra coast.
Govt mulls mini-ratna status to SCI
The government is considering conferring mini-ratna status on the Shipping Corporation of India (SCI). The ministry of surface transport has recommended SCI's case to the department of public enterprises.
