Prof Devi Singh is MDI directorProf Devi Singh has taken over as new director of Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurgaon. Singh has a master's degree in economics from Rajasthan University. He is a fellow (Ph.D.) from IIM Ahmedabad. He has an outstanding profile in research, training and consulting. Before joining MDI, he was a visiting professor at the faculty of management, McGill University, Montreal, Canada.
He was a UNDP Fellow at the International Centre for Public Enterprises, Slovenia and is an alumnus of the Institute of World Affairs, Connecticut.His teaching, research and consulting interests are international finance and currency markets and foreign exchange risk management.
Inder Bajaj joins as BBIL general manager
Inder Bajaj has joined as general manager (sales) with Bharti BT Internet Private Limited (BBIL), a joint venture company between Bharti Enterprises and BT. He will be responsible for the development of distributional channel and marketing of corporateproducts and solutions through a direct account management team. Bajaj was earlier with Modi Xerox Ltd where he held a variety of high profile roles including the management of sales operations for Delhi and eastern India for all products of the company (copiers, fax and printers). He was also responsible for customer service, credit and overheads. Bajaj was instrumental in the launch of inkjet and non-impact laser printers.
Bajaj completed his MBA from the University of Punjab, Chandigarh and worked with Ballarpur Industries Limited as HR executive before moving to Modi Xerox.
Award for Goel
Manmohan Goel, managing director of Pasondia Steel and Profiles and Bharat Udyog, has been honoured with the life-time achievement award for the year 1998-99 by the All India Manufacturers' Organisation (AIMO), in recognition of his services for the promotion of industries in Uttar Pradesh. Goel is also president of the Federation of Engineering Industries of India.
