World Bank may extend $2bn loan to India in 1999-2000
India is likely to get loans totalling about $2 billion from the World Bank in the current fiscal year despite sanctions slapped on the country after its May nuclear tests. An indication to this effect was given by the Indian delegation after its meeting with Bank president James Wolfensohn.
