Regulator makes it mandatory for stock exchanges to sign up with depositories
Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has made it mandatory for every stock exchange to sign up with depositories to provide the demat option to investors trading on the exchange.
Akshay Software plans IPO at Rs 80 a share
The Mumbai-based Akshay Software Technologies is the latest infotech company to eye the IPO market. The company is planning to enter the market in July 1999 with an initial public offering (IPO) to raise Rs 7-8 crore to fund its expansion plans.
UTI's Masterplus '91 declares 12% payout
Unit Trust of India's Masterplus '91 has declared a maiden dividend of 12%. The open-ended equity fund has also become the first scheme to announce a payout after the 1999-2000 budget provisions made dividend from open-ended equity funds tax-free.
