Ad agencies seek common TV rating system
Sibabrata Das
Mumbai, June 8: Leading advertising agencies, private satellite channels and advertisers want the two television audience measurement systems -- INTAM and TAM -- to publicly declare by July 31 that they would work together to promote a unified rating system. "It is the need of the hour to have a common rating system. Subscribing to two television audience measurement systems is not only expensive but also confusing," said Andrey Purushottam, head, media, Ammiratis Puri Lintas. The representatives, who met here on Tuesday, have also set up a sub-committee of five organisations to formulate a strategy and action plan for a unified currency. The five organisations are AP Lintas, Chaitra Leo Burnett, Trikaya Grey, Star TV and Zee TV. The meeting was attended by representatives from key organisations like Euro RSCG, O&M, Chaitra Leo Burnett, AP Lintas, Mediacom (media wing of Trikaya Grey), Ambience, Sony Entertainment Television, Zee TV and Star TV.
