Jaipur bourse issues winding up notices to 400 firms
M P Jain
Jaipur, June 8: The Jaipur Stock Exchange has issued winding up notices to 400 companies for not paying listing fee arrears. According to JSE executive director J N Dhankar, total arrears amount to Rs 1 crore. ``We have tried our best to get the arrears by sending several reminders to these companies but to no avail'' Dhankar said. He further added that JSEL had 1020 companies listed on it and the listing fees from all other companies had been recovered. In the meantime, Sebi has asked the bourse to furnish information about the listed companies. This follows reports received by Sebi that some of the companies have disappeared and it is now quite difficult to contact their managements.Sebi has to submit a report on vanishing companies to the Finance Ministry after collecting full information from all the stock exchanges of the country. In Rajasthan, said Dhankar, the whereabouts of almost all the companies were known barring one or two. ``We are in touch with the companies but their working has been hithard due to the general economic downslide,'' he said. JSEL has been witnessing no trading for the past few days. This is despite the fact that JSEL has installed the scrip-less trading system. Copyright © 1999 Indian Express Newspapers (Bombay) Ltd.
