Bangalore, June 12: Strategic alliance is one of the key components required to achieve high-end technological advancement, Philips Electronics senior vice president Krish Gopala said. Speaking at Philips Software Centre's TechKNOW'99 seminar held in Bangalore on Friday he said, in line with this trend, Philips has embarked on a partner identification exercise. Philips has key alliances with Sony and Microsoft.Delivering the keynote address Philips Electronics NV chief technology officer Roel Kramer said, digitalisation of consumer electronics products was happening now and it would lead to software-based new generation products like digital versalite disc-recordable, CD-recordable, digital TVs and set-top boxes. `
`Philips is ready not only to meet the challanges, but also to lead the way of digital future, '' he said.
According to Philips Medical Systems PMG director Hans Brouwhuis, the company was moving from selling individual medical products such as X-ray and MR scans to providing solutions.These solutions would include image capture, display and storage. TechKNOW seminars are an annual feature of Philips Software to share its global experience and innovations with the Indian IT community.
