My Money/Saif Ali Khan

`My CA has to say yes before I do anything'I didn't ever see myself as an actor. So I can't slot myself. I have better films on hand today than I've ever had. That's taken a while to achieve. I have floundered a bit here and there.

There is more of the spendthrift in me than the miser. I suppose of the two of us, Amrita is more money savvy. She takes care of the finances. But-I wouldn't put anything in hands I felt were not capable enough. I don't think she'll rip me off! People warm me about that, but, I think-if that goes wrong, everything will go wrong.

I want to give my daughter Sara the best education I can. I do indulge her. But I think she should live according to our means. It's unrealistic to expect a child coming from a wealthy home to do what a kid from a non-wealthy home would do. It confuses the kid. But there has to be a cut-off age limit when you say--I stop supporting you, now go get a job! The craziest thing I've done is to get married at 21 without telling my parents! Also, spending alot of money in London, with nothing to show for it. But I'm not stupid or spoilt about money.

For both of us, our idea of blowing up money is to blow a couple of thousand in a bookshop. Or buying music when I'm abroad. Money's a great cure for loneliness. If I was a bachelor, I'd be prime candidate for Sucker-of-the-Week.

Ads are good money. But it has to sound right to me. Not that I'm morally responsible or anything. But some ads I wouldn't do for no amount of money!I depend a lot on my CA-he has to say yes before I do anything. Also, my dad. I know nothing about the stock market and real estate doesn't make sense, unless you want to wait 23/30 years! My ideal investment would be buying property and then liquidating it.

What is money? Money is the power to buy another man's labour. I believe it's almost worthy of worship. It's not evil. In the hands of someone who doesn't know what to do with it, it's worthless. It's also a barometer of your success. In a slightly perverse way. If I had a milliondollars, I'd stick it in the bank--and live off the interest!!
