BSE puts another 25 firms in `Z' category

The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Tuesday transfered another 25 scrips to `Z' category, following their failure to comply with several provisions of the listing agreement. This follows the list of 25 companies announced on Monday as part of its "Mission 2000" agenda to take punitive action against 300-odd errant companies.

The second list of errant companies, released on Tuesday, includes Ayoki Mercantile Ltd, Banmor Cement Co Ltd, Basera Cement Ltd, Bhagwati Glass Containers Ltd, Bluegold Maritech (Intern) Ltd, Bombay Polymers Ltd, Bonanza Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Brindavan Gardens Ltd, Celeste International Ltd, Cheran Construction Ltd, Cherry Mercantile Company Ltd, Chhatar Industries Ltd, Chinar Exports Ltd, Cilson Finance & Inv. ltd, Cobal Investments Co. ltd, Consolidated Containers (I) Ltd, Consolidated Foundations Ltd, Crescent Colorcoat Systems Ltd, Crester Securities Ltd, Cromakem Ltd, Crystal Agritech Ltd, CSJ Agros Ltd, Curefast Remedies Ltd,Damania Capital Markets Ltd and Damania Pharma Ltd.

IDBI MF opens Nifty tracking fund

IDBI Mutual Fund on Tuesday launched the IDBI index I-NIT'99, the country's only index fund for Indian investors tracking National stock Exchange's (nse) key S&P CNX Nifty Index. "We are targetting the scheme to collect Rs 100 crore," said IDBI investment management company managing director Sivaprakasam. The issue period of the index fund is June 16 to June 30.

The open-ended scheme will invest its corpus in the 50 scrips that make up the Nifty Index.

Morgan Stanley to launch website

Morgan Stanley has commissioned DBS internet services to develop www.msgfindia.com, an independent site for the Morgan Stanley Growth Fund, to provide further value added services to the over 1.2 million unit holders across the country. The site, which is expected to be launched later this month, will provide information regarding the growth fund with introduction to their India operations and MSDW Global.
