Australia wheat shipments running strong, says board
REUTERS
Sydney, June 22: Australian wheat exports are maintaining a fast pace by continuing to run ahead of last year's shipments.Exports in the week ended June 18 this year amounted to 11.48 million tonnes, up from 11.04 million tonnes at this time last year, AWB Ltd said in its weekly market report. Shipments in the latest week amounted to 253,072 tonnes. The market remained very quiet for both old and new crop milling wheat, AWB said in its report. Limited tonnages of feed wheat were beginning to move out of New South Wales, it said.New crop prices would remain weak unless further volatility was produced by US weather conditions, particularly during the corn pollination period of June/July, it said. Feed grains were showing little market movement while US weather conditions remained positive, it said.Good growing conditions for canola in all Australian growing regions were keeping the price for canola under pressure.
