ACC to unveil new products

Pune, June 26: ACC Ltd will offer ready-to-use value-added products in a year's time. "The industry shape is changing and the growth areas will be ready mixed concrete (RMC) and bulk cement users on the one hand and smaller and smaller ready to used value added packs on the other," said ACC president, marketing, AK Jain at the launch of ACC Suraksha brand in Pune. ACC is expanding capacity from 120 lakh tonnes to 150 lakh tonnes to meet the growing demand and is coming out with a rights issue on July 7 to fund the expansion.The `Suraksha' brand was launched a year ago in the Konkan region and has features which make it a durable cement for the coastal belt. This product has since then been made available in the entire Western coastal region and is now being launched in other parts of the country also. "This cement is more dense and its strength increases over a period of time and could be suitable for non-coastal areas also," Jain said. The demand for this brand has increased and now constitutes 50 percent of the production at the Wadi plant of ACC.
