New Delhi, July 27: Verifone division of Hewlett-Packard Company will aggressively push its newly-developed internet-based payment solution called ePayment 2000 in the Asian region.VeriFone Asia-Pacific market director Stanley Lee told The Financial Express that his division was well poised to become a pioneer of internet-based e-commerce solutions with more than 7 million point-of-sale payment terminals already shipped worldwide.
The company aims to aggressively sell ePayment 2000 to clients in Asia-Pacific to reap benefits from the reemerging business opportunities in this region, he added.
As a division of the $47-billion HP, VeriFone is in a position to leverage the company's expansive resources and reputation to continue expanding its presence throughout Asia, felt Lee.
About ePayment 2000, VeriFone's India and SAARC country manager Atul Saran said, "it encompasses our next wave of the Omni 2000 terminal platform, seamlessly integrating with our VeriTalk Terminal Management System to formthe essential components of the integrated payment system (IPS) and e-services solutions. The ePayment 2000 platform offers our customers the ability to reduce total cost of ownership in relation to their payment-processing needs and gives them the flexibility to support multiple international and domestic applications."
Since the transactions at merchant locations have begun to demand sophisticated solutions such as e-gift, loyalty and stored value, ePayment 2000 solution can offer a system with current payment applications, while providing a flexible platform to which applications of the future can be easily added, he added.
VeriFone products cover a spectrum of payment systems, including hardware components such as payment terminals, printers and personal identification number (PIN) pads, smart-card appliances and network controllers.
On the software side, VeriFone provides point-of-sale payment applications, terminal- and network-management programmes, payment-processing programmes andinternet-commerce programmes.
