Recognising the massive brand equity that Lambretta carries, SIL has decided to approach several scooter manufacturers in the country for franchising the brand. However, the company is not in favour of selling off the brand, Scooters India chairman and managing director A Sahay said here.

"If any manufacturer is interested in using the brand on its vehicles, we will be too willing to give it to them on franchise. But there is no question of selling it off. It is a major money spinning brand for the company and we do not want to let go of it," Sahay said.
