Mumbai nickel continues to rise

Mumbai, Sept 2: Nickel prices continued to rise on the non-ferrous metals market here today due to firm overseas advices. Copper prices also improved on reports of rise in the London Metal Exchange (LME) rates. (PTI)Nickel rose sharply by Rs 8 per kilo to Rs 410. Copper wire bar firmed up to Rs 115.00, copper scrap heavy to Rs 104.50 and copper utensils scrap to Rs 91.00 per kilo.

Elsewhere, prices of aluminium ingots moved up to Rs 85.00, aluminium utensils scrap to Rs 65.00, brass utensils scrap to Rs 80.75, brass sheets cutting to Rs 86.75 and zinc to Rs 86.50.

However, lead and tin ruled steady on scattered dealing.

Following were today's rates per kilo with previous rates in brackets.

Copper wire bar Rs 115.00 (Rs 114.00), copper heavy scrap Rs 104.50 (Rs 103.50), copper utensils scrap Rs 91.00 (Rs 90.25), brass utensils scrap Rs 80.75 (Rs 79.50), brass sheets cutting Rs 86.75 (Rs 86.00), aluminium ingots Rs 85.00 (Rs 84.50), aluminium utensils scrap Rs 65.00 (Rs 64.50), zinc slab Rs 86.50 (Rs86.00), lead ingots Rs 41.50 (Rs 41.50), tin slab Rs 375.
