Consultindia bags German contract

Bangalore-based Consultindia Software & Solutions Ltd has received a contract for development of membership database management systems from ZDH of Germany. An agreement to this effect was recently signed between the two companies.

Sun Microsystems

Sun Microsystems plans to make an early release of the Solaris operating environment for Intel's 64-bit architecture. Software vendors can develop and test their 64-bit applications on Solaris enabling the customers to be able to take advantage of the IA 64 architecture.

Gamma Rays changes name

Gamma Rays Transmissions Ltd has changed its name to Gamma Infoway Exalt Ltd. A company release said that the name change had been effected in line with its entry into software development. The company has also undertaken SAP implementation projects.

Indiaplaza ties up with Airborne

Indiaplaza.com, the shopping mall on the Net, has tied up with the Airborne Express for providing courier services toall its transactions. With this, Indiaplaza will be able to utilise 80 centres of Airborn Express throughout India to deliver goods bought on its site.

Ramco expansion

Ramco Systems has expanded its range of enterprise busines management solutions for the financial services segment with the launch Fixed Asset Management System and Procurement and Expense Processing System . The company said these modules have been priced competitively taking into account facts like number of users, locations and customer specific features.

NIIT voted `company of choice'

NIIT Ltd has been adjudged the `company of choice' by 500 top information systems managers of the country on the basis of several parameters. The company has been ranked ahead of even global software giant Microsoft in the annual IT user opinion poll conducted by Delhi-based fortnightly Information Systems Computerworld. The magazine polled over 500 information system managers in top companies for the survey, which has been carried in itslatest issue. As per the survey, NIIT was voted the top software company ahead of Tata Consultancy Services and Microsoft. It was also ranked as the top education and training company.
