BoB donates Rs 9 lakh to SNDT

Bank of Baroda has donated Rs 9 lakh to the SNDT Women's University for construction of an institute of technology centre. The bank chairman K Kannan presented the cheque to Mariamma Varghese, vice-chancellor of the University on saturday and said "The efforts of sndt in providing technical education to women is laudable as it is imperative for entering the new millennium."

IDBI delivers Raasi Cement shares

IDBI has delivered 1,68,926 shares of Raasi Cement Ltd to the two investment companies of Indian Cements Ltd, under an agreement for sale entered into on June 1, 1998. The delivery of the shares, sold for Rs 300 per share, was effected following receipt of the entire amount of consideration together with interest on August 12, IDBI said on Monday.

Aziz Lalani contests election

Aziz Lalani, a director on the board of Vijaya Bank, is contesting the Lok Sabha elections from South Mumbai. He is representing the Progressive Democratic Front. Lalaniwas earlier a director on the boards of both Central Bank of India, and Bombay Mercantile Co-operative Bank.

Ceat Fin placed on rating watch Ceat Financial Services has been placed on a rating watch. The rating has a negative implication on the ouitstanding fixed deposit programme of the company. The recapitalisation plan as well as the business plan for 2000 is expected to be completed during the next four weeks, said the agency's release. The rating agency also assigned `Ind D-1+' raing to the Rs 25 crore commercial paper programme of Ballaerpur Industries.
