Chennai, Sept 20: Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) will be offering 40 per cent as special subsidy towards participation expenses to small scale industries (SSI) participating in Hanover Fair 2000 between March 20 and 25 in Germany.The subsidy will be extended to 25 units on the total cost of fully furnished stand of minimum nine sq.mtrs, subject to a maximum of Rs 85,000 per exhibitor, said NK Maini, general manager, SIDBI. To avail of the special scheme it is mandatory for the SSI units to participate through the Indo German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC) organised Indian pavilions.
Industries including SSIs falling under the umbrella of the three sectors: sub-contracting and industrial material, electrical automation technology and material handling would be provided services by IGCC, he said.
The primary objective of SIDBI to extend such assistance at the fair is to help SSI units to face the new millennium.
According to SJ Patil, representative in India for IGCC said that theHanover Fair 2000 will focus on industrial technology and services across six specialised display categories such as factory automation, materials handling and logistics, surface treatment, sub-contracting technology, energy and research and technology.
