The bank's deputy general manager, Pune city region, Kishor Vaze said hospitals are reluctant to accept credit cards or cheques and patients and their family have to cough up cash upfront to meet sudden medical expenses. The scheme is designed to enable easier payment of medical bills in such situations, Vaze said.
