Microuniv's certified Net programmeMicrouniv, Microland's education services division, on Thursday introduced certified internet programme based on e-business job roles and associated skills in India. The programme is aimed at professionals who design, develop, administer and secure internet-related services "by structuring the programme around job roles, rather than platforms or technologies. CIP is able to offer a vendor neutral "road map" for individuals and organisations who want to acquire internet skills," Pradeep Kar, chairman, Microland Group, said. While the certification-based training marketplace is currently less than 20 per cent of the total number of people trained every year, it is expected to grow at over 200 per cent this year, against the 35 per cent overall growth. Microuniv has partnered with prosoftraining.com Inc for the programme.
GTB to launch Net banking services
The Hyderabad-based Global Trust Bank (GTB) is planning to launch internet banking services for its retail and corporate customers. The new service, which is likely to be introduced in three weeks' time, will help customers to perform a host of banking functions on the internet from anywhere in the world. The functions will include getting account information, bills payment, depository inquiry, transfer of funds, registering requests for cheque books, demand drafts, pay order, change of address etc.
Alcatel forms carrier data division
Alcatel Alcatel India has formed the carrier data division in India, to respond to the rapidly expanding internet market in the country. The division plans to respond to the rapidly expanding internet market in the country by introducing a wide range of solutions for carriers and service providers using state-of-the-art internet technologies. The division will also be a centre of expertise for internet protocol technology for other areas of Alcatel networking activities.
