Delhi, Sept 24: Output of palmolein in Malaysia is expected to climb up from 8.50 lakh tonne to about 10 lakh tonne and prices there for March shipment were quoted at $397 a tonne. Consequently, soyabean oil plummeted by Rs 50 at Rs 2500 and groundnut oil drifted lower by Rs 150 at Rs 4250 a quintal due to sluggish demand from vanaspati and refinning mills as palmolein prices were much lower as compared to these oils.However, coconut oil Pariwar brand looked up by Rs 10 at Rs 1000 a tin on good seasonal demand.
Rajmash chitra falls
The local grains and pulses market displayed a steady-to-weak tendency on Friday.
Arhar, at the local market declined by Rs 50 at Rs 2000-2350 and dal arhar suffered a sharp setback of Rs 25-50 at Rs 2600-3375 a quintal due to weak demand from eastern Indian buyers and in the expectations of sale of official imported arhar after the election. Rajmash chitra fell sharply by Rs 75 at Rs 2025 a quintal on selling pressure from Maharashtra. However, gram improved by Rs10 at Rs 1425 a quintal on support from dal millers.
Among cereals, maize dipped by Rs 10-20 at Rs 580-620 a quintal on selling pressure from UP.
Sugar slips
In the absence of any major festival, demand in mill delivery sugar remained dull and prices slipped by Rs 5-8 a quintal.
Mawana sugar was traded at Rs 1540, Douralla at Rs 1430, Mirgunj at Rs 1425 and tax-paid Khatauli at Rs 1524 a quintal.
Red chillies shoot up
Red chillies of Guntur shot up by Rs 100-200 at Rs 3500-4700 a quintal on firm advices from south mandies and turmeric Nizamabad finger climbed up by Rs 50-100 at Rs 3500-3800 a quintal on firm producing centres advices. Saffron Irani and Kashmiri crashed by Rs 1000-2000 at Rs 22,000-36,000 a kg on improved supply.
Among dry fruits, fig recorded a sharp rise of Rs 400-500 at Rs 3500-4800 per 40 kg in the expectations of strong demand from Ayurvedic companies.
Gold sovereign static
The local silver market of Kucha Mahajini remained closed today on account of'Anant Chaturdashi'. However, gold, on the local bullion market recorded gains on Friday.
Gold in London which revealed an easy tendency on sale by the Australian companies, moved up to $266-267 an ounce on Friday, consequently, gold biscuit and standard mint gold flared up by Rs 40 at Rs 4180 and Rs 4190 per 10 gram, respectively.
Gold sovereign remained unchanged at Rs 3600-3625 per 8 gram.
Mentha oil spurts
Following high prices reports received from producing markets of UP coupled with mutual transactions, mentha oil, flake and bold continued uptrend in the local market and shot up freshly by Rs 35-65 to Rs 645, Rs 865 and Rs 940 per kg.
DMO, citric acid, safolite and sodium hydro sulphite ruled firm.
Nickel plate dips
Tin ingot and nickel plate dipped further by Rs 2-7 at Rs 355 and Rs 415-468 per kg on downtrend reports from LME coupled with stockists increased selling. Zinc slab, zinc dross, brass accessories, huny scrap, chadripital, brass sheet cutting, copper utensils,mixed scrap and wire scrap also fell further in the range of 50 paise to Re one per kg.
Rest of the metals were unchanged and trading lack-lustre.
Onion falls
New potato fell by Rs 25-50 to Rs 425-500 and store potato sold at Rs 220 per 80 kg as arrivals declined to around 162 trucks from UP, Shimla and Karnataka.
In onion, the sales were lacking against over 125 trucks availability and prices fell by Rs 20-30 per mound. Superior onion of Maharashtra sold at Rs 340 while Haryana, Gujarat and Rajasthan variety were quoted in the range of Rs 280 to Rs 320.
Tomato was cheaper by Rs 20-40 per box in the wake of around 52 trucks fresh arrivals. Mumbai variety sold at Rs 100-120 per 24-28 kg box while Nasik arrivals traded at Rs 90-95 per 16-20 kg box.
Chinese and Ladwa quality garlic was down by Rs 50 per 40 kg due to its poor offtake against around 600 bags arrivals. Superior Chinese variety quoted Rs 1300 while Ladwa of UP sold at Rs 800-850 per 40 kg.
Rathi saria rises
Followingprice spurt reports from Gobindgarh, Muzaffarnagar and Bhiwari, local prices of ingot shot up by Rs 100 to Rs 11,600-11,700 per tonne. Due to this, Rathi, Kamdhenu and Amba saria also were hiked by Rs 200 per tonne. Rathi and Kamdhenu Tor 12 MM saria went up to Rs 16,150 per tonne and other sizes also were quoted sharply up by Rs 200 per tonne.
Amba saria 12 MM was at Rs 15,900. Capital angel ruled firm at Rs 14,400-14,700 per tonne.
