Dr Reddy's second-quarter sales rise 4% to Rs 113.57 cr

Mumbai, Oct 8: Dr Reddy's Laboratories has registered an overall growth of 4 per cent in sales in the second quarter of the current fiscal to Rs 113.57 crore against Rs 109.7 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Total revenue from the domestic and international finished dosages business grew by 26 per cent to Rs 75.3 crore from Rs 59.9 crore. The finished dosages operations (Indian) grew 36 per cent to Rs 63.9 crore in the second quarter compared with Rs 47.1 crore in the previous year. The business contributed around 56 per cent of the total revenue during this period.

Revenues from international finished dosages fell to Rs 11.3 crore from Rs 12.78 crore in the second quarter of fiscal 2000. The company also obtained 54 additional registrations in countries other than the CIS during the quarter, according to a company release.

The release said that the slowdown in the bulk drugs market owing to oversupply of products affected the turnover of this business.
