Sensex sheds 173 pts on Day 5; search for new bottom begins
The search for a new bottom has begun all over again after the BSE Sensex dived by 173 points on Monday, its fifth consecutive fall. Many brokers were of the view that the bottom of the pit is yet to be tested in a market that has seen a fall of 11.34% in the last six sessions.

Sixty A group stocks hit lower circuit
Monday was one of the worst days witnessed on Indian bourses. The market was under the strong grip of panic-selling and the BSE Sensex lost almost 173.8 points from its previous close and 230 points, intra-day.

Next support level is at 4150 points
The Sensex slumped to 4271, losing another 174 points day over day. We now need to see if the support at the 4150 level will work. The market opened on a hopeful note, with the Sensex at 4490, some 45 points higher than Friday's close of 4445.
