Bangalore, Nov 5: Ramapuram Holiday Resorts Ltd, the people behind Orange County (Coorg), is mulling an IPO to mop up Rs 6 crore, according to the company's executive director (marketing) Cherian T Ramapuram.Ramapuram said within a year or two the company would sell around 40 per cent of its total equity to mop up around Rs 6 crore. The proceeds would be used to fund its expansion activities including setting up a personnel training centre for hospitality industry and takeovers.
Ramapuram Holiday Resorts has recently floated a new company - RS Hospitality Services Pvt Ltd - that would take care of the total management of the group's properties. The company would focus on four areas of operations including identifying properties and building, operation, marketing and sales. The company would be functional by December, he added.
On future plans, Ramapuram said five years down the line the company would have two more properties - both own and managed. To take over management, the company was currently in dialogue with a couple of resorts and a suitable deal would be announced within nine months, he added. ``To this effect, we have been approached by a number of resorts and we will settle down only for brands that suit Orange County.''
Ramapuram said the company was currently in the process of identifying a suitable location in North Kerala to set up its second fully own resort after Orange County.
