Bharat Heavy Plate bags Rs 34cr BPCL contract

R Ravichandran
Hyderabad, Nov 25: Bharat Heavy Plate & Vessels Ltd (BHPV), a subsidiary of Bharat Yantra Nigam Ltd, has bagged an order worth Rs 34 crore from Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd for the construction of mounded LPG/propylene storage facilities.

The company has bagged the order under stiff competition for setting up the facilities on turnkey basis at BPCL's Mahul refinery, a press release issued here said.

The storage facilities mainly consist of six LPG bullets each of inside diameter 6m, 76.5m long and weighing about 350 tonnes and 2 Nos propylene bullets of same size and weighing about 500 tonnes.

The storage facilities are to be constructed as per stringent requirements of British Standard 5500 and Static and Mobile Pressure Vessel Rules, under the inspection of third party and Chief Controller of Explosives (CCOE), apart from constraints inherent in operational refinery.
