StanChart introduces cash management service on Net

Anurag Joshi
Mumbai, Nov 25: The Standard Chartered Bank (StanChart) on Thursday introduced a simplified cash management reporting service on its website on the Internet. StanChart customers can now view and print all their cash management and trade information in a variety of formats.

A StanChart release on Thursday said that the new facility offers enhanced service through the internet for the bank's corporate and institutional clients.

"The corporate and institutional banking website already offers a number of value-added features including comprehensive product information and a range of on-line services to help customers conduct their business better," the release said.

The trade reporting function enables customers to access a wide range of information on outstanding letters of credit, letter of credit drawings and import collections. The cash management reporting function provides a reliable and effective link to accounts across the StanChart network and will provide information about accounts with otherbanks through the SWIFT multi-bank reporting capability.

The site also offers customers the facility to view the National Collection Services (NCS). Users of the NCS services will have access to their reconciliation, activity, forecast and post-dated cheque custody reports.

Meanwhile, StanChart has unveiled plans of making India the hub of its banking activities of South-East and West Asia for back-end services. The whole exercise will begin from Hyderabad in the second quarter of next year.

For materialising its plans, the bank has already started activity through some infotech companies. StanChart's other plans include foraying into mutual funds, primary dealership, service delivery and E-commerce.
