The Bombay Stock Exchange has made some changes in the trading timings for Friday, November 26 and has also advanced the badla session by a day to Friday evening. The changes have been made to facilitate a mock trading session on Saturday to test its new Y2K compliant systems.According to BSE, on Friday the market will open at 9.30 am instead of the normal 10.00 am, and close at 2.00 pm. Also the exchange will conduct the badla session during Friday evening, from 6.30 pm to 8.45pm, instead of the normal badla session on Saturday morning. The trading timings for the NSE, however, remains unchanged.
According to a dealer with a domestic broking house, there is every possibility of the NSE flaring up after the BSE closing at 2 pm. ``This phenomenon of forcing price discrepancies between the two exchanges, whenever one of the exchanges close early, has been observed in the past.
And I expect the same thing to happen this time around again,'' said the dealer.
