Knorr extends brand to Chinese mixes
As part of the Knorr brand extension, International Bestfoods Limited (IBL) has launched a range of Chinese Mixes. Knorr Chinese Mixes are 100 per cent vegetarian, made from a multitude of ingredients that are premixed in the exact proportion to prepare the gravy for Chinese dishes. Available in the top six metros, Knorr Chinese Mixes have been launched in a range of five popular variants: Knorr Manchurian mix, chowmein mix, sweet & sour, chilli and fried rice mix. Priced at Rs 19 per pack, each pack is sufficient for 4-5 servings.

Ericsson's `Phokat Mein Phuket'
Ericsson has launched a `Phokat Mein Phuket' consumer promotion to celebrate its hundred years in India. It offers a free, fully automatic camera with every purchase of its latest handset model A1018s, besides making the consumers eligible to participate in the contest. The plethora of prizes include five grand prizes - an all-paid trip for two to Thailand's exotic beach resort, Phuket. The promo will be supported by a high visibility press and channel campaign during the next six weeks, says Ranjivjit Singh, Director, Corporate Communications, Ericsson.

Konka launches flat screen CTV
Konka Electronics India Ltd has launched its 100 per cent flat 29 inch colour TV. The model is priced at Rs 57,990. The TV's features include: a 100 % flat picture tube, a screen of 500 lines resolution, making for clearer picture quality, PIP feature, Surround Sound system, keyboard control panels and connecting terminals for multi-functional audio and video equipment.

Wahl Clipper Corporation, the $1 billion hair grooming products giant, in association with Brushman International, has launched a range of Wahl's latest top of the line professional and personal hair grooming products like clippers, trimmers and shavers in India. Priced in the range of Rs 500 at the entry level to Rs 5,000 at the upper end, Wahl hair grooming products are available at all the leading stores across the country.

Johan Splunter on Philips board
Johan A.van Splunter has been appointed additional director to the Board of Directors of Philips India Ltd. Mr Splunter is president and chairman of Philips Electronics Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, Singapore and has been with Philips since 1969.

Ayur Herbals bags silver medal
Ayur Herbals, a brand owned by RDM Traders Ltd was awarded a silver medal for `Excellence in presentation of special display on good living' at the recently held India International Trade Fair'99 held in New Delhi. This is for the second consecutive year the company has been awarded the medal.

Fisher-Price unveils plans for Indian market
After a successful soft launch in the Indian market, Mattel Toys India Limited is introducing the entire range of Fisher-Price infant and pre-school development toys. The marketer of top-selling brands like Barbie and Hot Wheels, Mattel Inc markets its pre-school and infant product lines under the Fisher-Price umbrella.

The brand was test launched in the Indian market two months ago. The Fisher-Price range is being supplied through retail outlets in the top ten metros and mini metros in the country and the company aims at having the complete range available in the next six to eight months.
