Problem solving through Vedic management

PRESS TRUST OF INDIA
New Delhi, Dec 6: India will hold the key to successful corporate management in the new millennium, eminent management gurus and industrialists said here today, asserting that the revival of the country's time-tested Vedic knowledge of meditation and yoga would become more relevant in future.

Revival of the age-old Vedic wisdom of meditation and yoga is the hallmark of development of an individual - both in body and mind. Unless the fundamental level of individuals is nurtured properly and improved upon, all sorts of business initiatives would fail, they said.

"On an average about 80 per cent of various corporate initiatives fail. This is because we lay emphasis primarily on superficial aspects. Unless the individual aptitude and attitude of both management staff and workers are developed, such initiatives are bound to fail," said William Hurlin, director of a US-based energy company and a practising Transcendental Meditation (TM) man.

Addressing a seminar on `Vedic Management: The key to successful corporate investment strategy', K S Madhavan, managing director Tecumseh India, Hyderabad, said ``The introduction of meditation rules in my company have brought down tension among senior management and helped bring in solutions to various problems through group discussions.''

Montague Guild of Guild Investment Management, USA and Shashi Ullal, president Hughes Escorts Communications also expressed similar sentiments.
