Sunrays joins hands with SCO
Sunrays Computers on Thursday joined hands with SCO, a leading provider of Unix server operating systems headquartered in the US, to develop an internet portal for the department of industries of Karnataka government aimed at promoting the state as the destination of choice for all industrial activity. IBM India on Thursday announced that e-business and consolidation would drive its servers in the new millennium. "IBM's RS./6000 SP is being positioned as a key platform to help customers move their business to e-business in a cost-effective manner with the help of server consolidation," company vice-president (systems) Nipun Mehrotra said. Being an architecture that supports multiple number ofservers (or nodes in RS./6000 SP terminology), it provides the customer with the flexibility to add newer applications as and when they are ready to be hosted, he told reporters in Bangalore.
SAP's Web-based HR solution
SAP India, a software company, on Thursday announced the availability of its localised Web-based human resource (HR) solution for India that would enable the companies to take HR services online. "The Web-based solution designed using the latest internet technology meets local HR regulations, legal requirements and fulfills a range of business requirements from recruitment to post retirement benefits," Girish Anand Sobti, director strategic business unit-human resource, SAP Asia Pacific, said.
Tektronix signs pact with Compaq
Tektronix on Thursday announced the signing of a teaming agreement with Compaq Computer Corporation to offer a complete network monitoring solution designed for the emerging operator market, which includes competitive local exchange carriers and wireless service providers.
