Microland eyes Rs 30 cr turnover

Bangalore, Dec 16: Gearing itself to be a leading global e-services company, Pradeep Kar-run Microland Ltd is looking at a compounded growth between 50 and 100 per cent in the next three years.

Briefing the media at Microland office premises on Thursday, the group chairman Kar said during the current fiscal the company would post a turnover of Rs 30 crore, a 60:40 ratio between domestic and exports respectively. The trend was expected to take a major shift during the next three years with exports becoming the large chunk of the company's revenue. Over the period, the ratio between exports and domestic business would be at 75:25 respectively, he added.

Kar said Microland has three areas of operations including software, networking and education of which networking was expected to account for over 50 per cent of the total revenue.

Speaking on the occasion, the company's networking arm Global Networking Services Organisation (GNSO) president Sharad Heda said Microland was completely focused on providing a complete range of e-services.The GNSO would concentrate on corporate enterprises as well as Internet & Application Service Providers (ISPs & ASPs) who have large network infrastructure requirements.

As part of its e-service strategy, the company has set up an Internet Technology Centre that would assist the company in providing end-to-end services to its customers worldwide. The company has invested around $.5 million in the centre over a period of 18 months.

According to associate vice-president (technology & international business) KS Ganesan, the centre would address technology practices specifically in the areas of quality of services based on converged networks, scalable web infrastructure, design and best practices implementation methodologies of managed hosting environment, Internet Data Centres, call centre management, security and threat assessment labs etc.
