E-engineering solutions from CTS
Cognizant Technology Solutions has launched a new suite of services to transform the client's business applications into the electronic mode. The e-engineering suite includes products to build e-business architecture and application development, e-business integration, e-business application management and other e-engineering solutions tailored to meet key verticals and to incorporate web technology, company chairman Kumar Mahadeva said.

New MTNL facility
Minister of communication Ram Vilas Paswan on Monday dedicated "Mahanagar Doorsanchar Sadan", a new facility in Delhi equipped with the latest digital electronic exchange to the nation. In his address, Paswan emphasised the need for improving customer care cell of the department of telecom and MTNL while reiterating the objective of providing telephone and internet facilities in all villages by 2002. The dedication ceremony was also addressed by minister for urban development Jagmohan and minister of state for communication Tapan Sikdar.

Singapore order for Sawaca
Sawaca Communications Ltd has bagged a Rs 5 crore order for software export to Singapore. The order would be executed before this month-end through Sawacasoftware Pte Ltd, a software exporting arm of Sawaca Communication. The company is planning to open a branch office in Singapore for the purpose. Meanwhile, the company is negotiating with the three Taiwan-based companies to lift their entire CATV production, including digital satellite receivers, low noise blocks, set top box and cable modem design.

Hyderabad Telephones plans ATM
Hyderabad Telephones is planning to introduce ATM-based services for handling bulk data transfer. Hyderabad telecom district principal general manager RN Srinivasan, in a communication to the subscribers' on Monday said that mobile telephones service of the he company was likely to be launched in over next four to five months. It was making rapid progress in networking various locations. It had already extended optical fibre technology to nearly a dozen customers.
